Camino de Santiago Day 18

Day 18: I woke up at 5:45 AM and left the hotel at 6:30 AM. I walked out the west part of the city past the ruins of the old monastery and then followed the road out of town. The camino stayed next to the road for the next two towns, Calzada Del Coto (off the camino) and Bercianos del Real Camino, each 3.5 miles aprart. In Bercianos del Real Camino, I stopped at Bercianos 1900 and had some poundcake and a water at 8:30 AM. I then continued on another 4.5 miles to Burgo Ranero, where I stopped at La Costa del Ranero and had Canadian bacon and eggs, toast, and an electrolyte drink. The next stretch was a solid 8 miles (along a road mostly) to Reliegos. Once in town, I went to Bar Gil II and had a meat lasagna, beer, and refilled my water. I left Reliegos and followed the camino straight out along another road. I facetimed Tatiana and my mom and dad on the way to the next town of Mansilla de las Mulas. Once in town, I checked in at Hotel Rural Casa de la Soportales. It was a great place to stay (very updated). I put my laundry in and then relaxed for a bit in the room before going to the pilgrim’s dinner at the sister property of my hotel, Albergue El Jardin del Camino. The pilgram's dinner was great but the portions were huge (whole plate of meat, then chicken and vegetables, then ice cream). After dinner I stopped by Cafe Pub Burbujas for a beer and multiple bottled water to take back with me to the room. After some computer time, I went to bed.
